Today we had Don the eel scientist came to talk to us about eels. He had heaps of information.
- If you put your finger in a eels mouth you can't get it back!!
 - They can move backwards and forwards.
 - They have very small teeth.
 - The longest eel was 2 metres long.
 - In the ear bone are rings how many rings there are shows that's how old they are.
 - They eat ducklings maybe crabs and baby birds.
 - As they eat, they spin around 10 times a second.
 - Females lay 7-20 million eegs.
 - Long-fins eat other eels.
 - Females are bigger than males.
 - Australian long-fins only found in North Island.
 - Little horns at the top.
